Roster:
- Each team must have 4 players on their roster. One player must be designated
as the Captain.
- The combined height of players on each team must equal 24ĄŻ6" or less.
Use the height that appears on your driversĄŻ license. Players will be
measured for discrepancy.
- Teams are limited to one non-Korean player.
- All games must start with 3 players on each team, unless a team with 3
players agrees to allow the opposing team to play with only two players.
- The team roster may NOT be changed after April 20, 2006. Upon check-in,
teams will be issued wristbands that must be worn throughout the tournament.
Tournament Set-up:
- Once all entries are received, teams will be divided into groups for
the regulation round.
- Round Robin (Regulation): Each team will be guaranteed 3 games played
against the teams in their bracket. All teams are required to play in
their scheduled games. The top two teams in each division will advance
to playoffs. For tied team records, advancement will be determined by
cumulative point differentials. If the point differential is tied then
the winner is determined based on the tied teamsĄŻ previous head-to-head
game score.
- Single Elimination (Playoffs). The advancing teams will be seeded
and bracketed based on the scores from the regulation round. Winning
teams will continue to advance in the tournament until the champion
is determined.
- All regulation and playoff games will be first to 15 points or 20
minutes long.
- Each team is responsible for checking the Master Scoreboard for all
schedules, times, courts, revisions and other information. Teams not
present within 5 minutes of the time an official calls for the game
to begin will risk forfeiture.
Scoring:
- All baskets made in the game will count as 1 point.
- Baskets made when the shooter has BOTH feet behind the arc counts as
two points.
- If the game reaches a tie when time has expired, a sudden-death overtime
will declare the first team to score as the winner. The team that started
the game on defense will get possession of the ball.
Game Play:
- To begin the game, a coin toss will determine the right to possession.
The team winning the toss has the option to start the game with the ball
or defer possession to the opposing team.
- The ball will change possession after each made basket.
- The game will be played on a half-court where the ball must be "taken
back" with BOTH feet behind the two-point arc on every change of
possession. Failure to take it back will result in the loss of possession
and the loss of any points resulting from that possession.
- The ball must be checked by an opposing player or passed to a teammate
to begin play.
- No stalling is allowed. If stalling occurs, a delay of game violation
will be issued by the referee at his/her sole discretion. The first violation
will result in a warning and the second offense will result in loss of
possession. For any delay of game violation the clock will be stopped
until it is started by an in-bounds pass.
- Jump or held balls will go to the defensive team.
- Substitution is unlimited, but permitted only when the ball is not
in play.
- Each team will have two 45-second time-outs. The clock will stop for
these time-outs or for any injuries on the court.
Fouls:
- The referee will call and the scorekeeper will record all team fouls
on the scoresheet.
- All fouls are considered common fouls. Each team is allowed 6 common
fouls.
- For the first 6 fouls, the ball will be taken out by the fouled team
at the top to resume play.
- Beginning with the 7th team foul, the player fouled will be awarded
one free throw. Regardless if the player makes the shot, the shooting
team retains possession.
- Flagrant, Intentional or Continuous Misconduct Fouls can and will
result in the dismissal of the offending player. In such cases, if the
player fouled is in the process of shooting and makes the shot, the
basket is scored and he/she shall retain possession. If the player fouled
is not shooting or misses a shot attempt, the player shall receive one
free throw and retain possession.
- If a player receives a technical foul, the opposing team will shoot
one free throw and retain possession.
- Two technical fouls will result in automatic ejection from the tournament.
- ANYONE INVOLVED IN PUNCHING OR FIGHTING WILL BE EJECTED FROM THE TOURNAMENT.
Referees and Debates:
- Each court will have one referee, scorekeeper and timekeeper to officiate
the game.
- THE TEAM CAPTAIN WILL REPRESENT HIS/HER TEAM AS A SPOKESPERSON AT
ALL TIMES.
If there is a dispute, he/she may request a court supervisor to come
to the court to handle the situation.
- During any protest, time on the game clock continues to run, except
for the last 3 minutes of the game.
- If any player is rude or disrespectful to the referees, they may be
suspended for the game or the tournament.
