For Charles Wee, things are looking up. Way up.

The Pasadena, Calif., architect beat out 143 competitors across the globe with his design for a city tower in the Cheongna district of Incheon, Korea.

His plans call for a skyscraper that stands approximately 1,480 feet tall and 150 stories high, twice the height of the Eiffel Tower. Called the Infinity Tower, it will be home to Cheongna’s public relations offices and a children’s museum. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2013.

Reads a statement from the Korea Land Corporation: “The tower will symbolize a significant turning point in boosting the city’s economy and hopefully attract many new investors.”
