With great sadness, KACF will say goodbye to executive director Bomsinae Kim. After faithfully serving the organization for two-and-a-half years, she has decided to pursue other personal interests, including spending more time with her family. However, she intends to remain involved with the organization as a lifelong advisor and supporter.

“It was a wonderful experience working for KACF and a true pleasure being at the center of the organization’s vibrant growth in the past few years,” Kim says. “I look forward to continuing to support KACF and being involved in the Korean American community in the New York area.”

Under her leadership, KACF has grown dynamically from a young, start-up community foundation with minimal infrastructure to an organization with 13 grantee partners, three staff members and a budget of nearly $1 million. Also, thanks to her dedication, KACF was able to raise its profile and awareness.

Please join us in thanking Kim and wishing her the best.

The KACF board has formed a search committee to find a successor. If you are interested or know of anyone, please send resumes to resume@kacfny.org.

A Shoe-Sational Evening

Beverly Feldman, whose eponymous company produces more footwear than any other female owned footwear company in the world, teamed with KACF to host a special shopping event at the Beverly Feldman Boutique in Manhattan. The 60-plus supporters at the event were treated to an exhibition of the Beverly Feldman Spring 2008 Collection with a special 20-percent off price tag. Wine and hors d’oeuvres were served and a raffle was held. Ten percent of event proceeds went to KACF raising hundreds of dollars for KACF. It was the second successful year in a row Beverly Feldman and KACF teamed up and KACF supporters took advantage, once again, of the 20-percent discount and spent thousands of dollars at the event. Bomisinae Kim commented that “KACF has been blessed to have supporters like Beverly Feldman, who have continued to show their wonderful support in creative ways through the years.” Steering committee member Philip Lee said, “It is great that a person like Beverly Feldman has such high regard for KACF’s work. It’s a testament to KACF’s reach and unique work.”

Beverly Feldman is a global footwear and handbag company with distribution in nearly 50 countries. As the world’s most successful female shoe designer, Beverly Feldman has been producing lavishly decorated yet wearable designs for more than 30 years.

Beverly’s unique footwear has captivated Oprah, Tyra Banks, Kim Cattrall, Paula Abdul, Kirstie Alley, Angelina Jolie and the Hilton sisters.
