History of the KAC National College Leadership Conference:

For more than 28 years, the KAC National College Leadership Conference has provided college students an invaluable opportunity to develop their leadership abilities in the context of their Korean American identities. KAC enlists the expertise of various community leaders and pioneers to produce an inspiring and enriching experience for the participants. To date, the conference has trained more than 800 young adults from more than 100 universities. Conference participants are selected from diverse regions, interests and backgrounds. Over the course of five days, participants engage in workshops, group discussions and team-building activities, as well as one-on-one interaction with qualified counselors. These activities challenge each participant to explore their Korean American identity and develop their personal and organizational leadership skills.

VOTING FAQs

What qualifications do I need to meet in order to vote?

• 18 years of age or older

• United States citizen

• A resident of California

• Not in prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony

• Not declared to be mentally incompetent by a court

When do I register to vote?

You must register to vote at least 15 days prior to an election to be eligible to vote in that election. You must re-register to vote if you have moved, changed your name, or your political party since the last election you voted.

Where can I get voter registration forms?

KAC has English- and Korean-language voter registration forms available at the KAC office, and assistance is available for walk-in clients. You can obtain voter registration forms at Los Angeles County buildings, city halls, fire stations, libraries, state motor vehicle offices (DMV), public assistance offices (DPSS, WIC) and post offices. The Secretary of State also has an online voter registration form at the Secretary of State’s website.

How do I vote on Election Day?

Prior to Election Day, the Registrar-Recorder will send you a sample ballot as well as information about the candidates, propositions, and other voting platforms through regular mail. On the back cover of the sample ballot, in the bottom left corner, your polling site will be listed with the address. Your polling site will not necessarily be the same location as your past site, as locations often change. Polling sites are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and have pollworkers who can assist you with questions you may have. You may bring your sample ballot or written materials with you into the voting booth for reference. Remember to bring your California driver’s license or California state identification card.
