On March 13, KABA of Southern California celebrated its 28th annual installation and Kenneth B. Chang memorial scholarship dinner at the historic Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.

 

The evening featured civil rights leader Vernon E. Jordan, Jr., who provided the keynote address. 

 

KABA followed with presentations of the KABA Pro Bono Award to Grace K. Lee, an attorney with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, the Kenneth B. Chang Memorial Scholarship to law students Miri Kim and Lawrence Joe, and the LRK Foundation Scholarship to Yoobin Yang.  

 

Judge Tammy Chung Ryu installed KABA’s executive officers and board of governors for the 2007-2008 year. KABA’s executive officers are president Joanna H. Kim, president-elect Paul S. Park, executive vice president Marrian Chang, Treasurer Princeton Kim and secretary Jane Oak. The board of governors is comprised of members Wonkoo Chang, Stephanie Choi, Steve Hwang, Dorothy Kim, Hyongsoon Kim, Young J. Kim, Kelly A. Knight, Lisa H. Kwon, Joann H. Lee, Jane Oak, Yungsuhn Park, Angela E. Oh, Ekwan E. Rhow, Ellen J. Shin and Lisa Yang.

 

The evening closed with the remarks of Yul Kwon of “Survivor” fame and actress Elizabeth Chun Kelly as the mistress of ceremonies.
