Never willing to check off any singular category, the Ahn Trio reaffirms this declaration in its latest album, “Lullaby For My Favorite Insomniac.” Through the 16-track record, the Julliard-trained sister act — violinist Angella, pianist Lucia and cellist Maria — eases through genres such as new age, folk, jazz and hip-hop. Guest vocalists on the album include Susie Suh, Ema Brabcova, Ra.D and Insun Shin.   

“The greatest thing about playing contemporary classical music is that we experience and live through all these different genres of music as if we were in the past and the present at the same time,” says Lucia.
