Professional caregivers play an important role in ensuring a meaningful quality of life for their clients. Although it’s a difficult and sometimes demanding job, it can become a very fulfilling experience.

If you’ve ever considered caregiving as a profession, or if you’ve found yourself in a caregiver position due to personal circumstances, KHEIR is now offering certified caregiver courses that will provide guidance, information on available resources, and knowledge of basic skills to help both you and your care recipient.

KHEIR has a 21-year history of being a premier provider of quality health and social services, and offers the only Korean language caregiver training within Los Angeles. Led by professional and experienced social workers, the curriculum consists of four sessions taken over the span of two months. Topics will include: An overview of caregiver duties and responsibilities, the characteristics of a good caregiver, the relationship between caregiver and care recipient, how to handle stress and emergencies, Alzheimer’s disease, pain, and drug management.

Each session costs $20 and the maximum number of participants is limited to 20. Sessions are held on the second and third Thursdays of the month. In addition, participants who complete the course successfully and receive certification by KHEIR will be listed in our priority referral database (employment is not guaranteed).

Mammograms can save lives by detecting breast cancer as early as possible. KHEIR is providing free mammograms at various community sites around Los Angeles. The procedure is quick, simple and relatively painless, and staff will be on hand to ensure that the experience is safe and comfortable.
