The 12th annual KAPS leadership awards gala is set for Nov. 1

 

Our community has been blessed with so many exceptional leaders and students. The Korean American community continues to grow in population, businesses, and most importantly, culture. Every generation is playing a role in helping build new bridges as well as polishing up the ones that continue to stand strong.

The 12th annual KAPS gala will be held Nov. 1 at the Westin Bellevue in Seattle. Our gala will recognize our valuable students and leaders as well as display the many contributions Korean Americans are making.

Strengthening Our Community

 

KAPS is founded on the principle that unique strengths and talents are forged when combining the knowledge of many cultures and different perspectives.

We are dedicated to creating opportunities that develop great leaders who can best represent all the cards that were dealt to us in life. Here are some of the things we offer:

 

Leadership

*Annual KAPS gala

*Professional development seminars and workshops

 

Mentorship

*UW Mentorship Program: In partnership with groups such as KSA, KSU and KALSA, we represent more than 2,000 KA students at UW.

 

Community service

*Annual KCCC benefit golf tournament: Drawing out more than 100 players, the annual event raises $10,000 to $15,000 each year.

 

Networking

*Socials and mixers: Events occur monthly with crowds ranging from 30 to 100 people.

*Free online Korean American business portal

 

Civic involvement

*Voter registration and citizenship drives

 

Cultural awareness

*Sponsorship of local community events and cultural festivals
