KCCD CEY partners with United Way of Los Angeles and Healthy Cities to host a training for partner organizations on research and data collection for grant writing and advocacy.
KCCD’s success in training agencies who serve at-risk Asian American youth through the Communities Empowering Youth (CEY) program was highlighted in the Administration for Children and Family Compassion Capital Fund Newsletter. This newsletter goes out to more than 5,500 current and former grantees.
In partnership with the United Way of Greater Los Angeles, KCCD has been providing training and technical assistance to 10 faith-based and community non-profits that serve at-risk Asian American youth. Partner organizations have also been receiving funding and capacity building assistance in the areas of organizational and program development, leadership development and community engagement. These services assist partner organizations to maximize their ability to serve at-risk youth. Additionally, the KCCD CEY collaborative of partner organizations has been a valuable resource and provided organizations with opportunities to network and grow with one another. KCCD CEY partner organizations include: All People’s Christian Center, Asian Youth Center, CLAMA/Project R.Y.T.M.O., Create Now!, Kollaboration, Korean American Coalition, Our Saviour Center, Pilipino Worker’s Center, P.F. Bresee Foundation and Step Off Ministry.
Here are some comments regarding KCCD’s CEY program:
“One of the benefits for us when we have partnered with other agencies is bringing some of the strengths of each of our organizations and agencies and allowing those to be a support system for the whole group.”
— Joey Arreguin, CLAMA
“Coming from a small organization like ours, it’s been really encouraging to see all of [the other, bigger organizations]. … It’s given us hope and made us think, ‘We can do that.’”
— Steve Kim, Step Off Ministry
