KAPS President Jesse Adams (left) talking with James Sun who stars in the “The Apprentice” this year.  James is a local candidate from Seattle, who just launched www.zoodango.com. He was also a past recipient of the KAPS Future Leader Scholarship Award.

On January 12, KAPS held their annual kick-off party at Imo Asian Bistro in Seattle, Washington. The turnout was a success and many new faces showed up from all across town as well as new transplants to the area.

The president of KAPS, Jesse Adams, introduced himself as well as past leaders of the KAPS organization.  Also, new officers and board members were introduced as well.

The mission of this year is to create opportunities for Korean American professionals to contribute their services in their communities. We also value friendship and would like to create a comfortable relationship between Korean Americans as well as other members of society. As Korean Americans, our goals are to create positive images by being ambassadors as well as be exceptional role models and mentors for educational purposes.

KAPS serves many communities, however, KAPS is unique because it is a forum where Korean Americans can establish personal and professional networks and support groups. As a whole, we believe creating a set of connections will enhance as well as greater the opportunity for people to help others.

We encourage individuals to become involved with their communities, and the best way to start is by building friendships with those who have common goals or can help lead you into the right direction.

A Korean American Kick Off Party is not complete without a little bit of Karaoke.  Well, in this case a lot of Karaoke.  If you have a chance to stop by Seattle, email us at rsvp@seattlekaps.org. and we might have an event coming up soon. New guests are always welcome!

KAPS takes new members all throughout the year and the board members of KAPS are willing to answer any questions. For more information, please visit our website at www.seattlekaps.org.
