LA KOREATOWN charts the history of Korean immigration to Los Angeles beginning in 1904, telling the story of a community virtually unknown for over fifty years. Even many Korean-Americans living in Los Angeles believe that the birth of this community took place in the 1970’s.
Our exhibit hopes to share the many hardships faced by these pioneers, through their rises and falls as a community, to their establishment as essential members of the City of Los Angeles.
