Former KAC Interns at the Lotus Festival registering people to vote.
Summer is just around the corner, and college students still have time to apply for KAC’s annual National College Leadership Conference and Summer Internship program. The summer internship provides an exciting opportunity for KA college students to work with professionals in the corporate, legal, political and media sectors while gaining hands-on experience in community organizing and problem solving. The interns will be placed in a professional atmosphere for four days a week and spend the remaining day at KAC working on community-building projects. The 12 interns selected for this nine-week program will each receive a $1,000 stipend. Past internship sponsors include the office of Rep. Xavier Becerra, office of Board of Equalization Chairman John Chiang, KTLA, FOX, Samsung America, and private law firms.
The internship program will begin at the KAC National College Leadership Conference where 50 to 60 participants will hone their leadership skills. This year’s conference will be held from June 19 to 23 at Mount Kare, located in San Bernardino County. The intensive five-day schedule includes speeches from prominent inspirational speakers and team-building activities to aid in the advancement of Korean Americans.
