Is there anything we can do to help the Chungs (“Taking it to the Cleaners,” June 2007)? Can we start a petition or something to keep Pearson from being re-appointed? Wrongful defamation or something? That is absolutely ridiculous!

I read your article on Judge Pearson versus Custom Cleaners. I think Pearson’s case is absurd, and may be considered to be undue harassment. I’m not a lawyer, just an irate Korean American reader. What can someone like myself do to help out? Write a letter?

Editor’s note: On June 25, a judge ruled in favor of Jin Nam and Soo Chung who had been battling a $54 million lawsuit (see page 16). Those who want to reach out to the Chungs can go to

Virginia Tech Coverage
I wanted to write and say how awesome your Virginia Tech cover story was. There were a lot of different ways KoreAm could have taken this incident, but the cover captured perfectly what I think we as a community should be saying, together.
Everything about the VT coverage was done perfectly — a diverse array of opinions from community leaders and folks, mental health, profiles of victims, coverage on media coverage — everything.
Thank you for your consistent work in our community. It’s impressive you guys have been so great for so long.
