It was an awesome experience to serve KAPS last year, and I look forward to another great year!
Last year we worked on strengthening our foundation and building on the future by launching a couple major projects. I’m proud to say that we were successful due to the combined strength of many members offering their talent, time and hard work.
This year we have new blood that will motivate and energize our organization even more. In January, we celebrated Korean American Day and our newly elected board members at the KAPS annual kickoff party. Traditionally, this is our largest KAPS party of the year, and we were inspired to see a lot of new faces. You’ll find the event’s photos on our Web site at www.seattlekaps.org. In the meantime, I proudly present our new officers for 2007. — Jesse Adams
KAPS Officers For 2007
PRESIDENT
Jesse Adams served as KAPS president for 2006, but started volunteering two years ago as part of the social committee. He was born in Seoul and lived there for close to nine years.
Although he was a student of arts and music, his career path has taken him to a variety of different companies. He started off in sales and marketing, then went on to teach English in Korea. After his return, he enjoyed bartending at different restaurants and nightclubs in Baltimore and Seattle until gaining a position at World TV as senior account executive.
His experience has led him to his current position as co-founder of Zhen Distribution, Inc., an import-export company dealing in specialty plastic and rubbers.
VICE PRESIDENT
Who is Caitlin Hwang? If you were to ask her, she’d tell you that she’s a simple gal that loves the great outdoors and enjoys making people happy. Some of the other things she enjoys include dining (i.e. eating), spending time in the mountains and its waters, ruminating over a few of her favorite poems from Dickinson to Frost, experiencing new activities and events, and just simply spending time with friends and family.
Caitlin has the opportunity to help people day-to-day as a real estate consultant focusing on residential properties in the east side and Seattle. Helping people actualize their goal of owning or selling their home is what Caitlin finds personally satisfying and is looking forward to assisting others this upcoming year.
Her enthusiasm for helping people extends into her community work for KAPS as the vice president for 2007. Caitlin has been a member of KAPS since last summer. She would love to get to know you, so please say hi and introduce yourself!
TREASURER
Eddie Kwon grew up in Portland and moved to Seattle in 2005 to begin his career at Phantom Works Boeing. As a physicist, he has been published, has multiple patents, and travels to Pasadena as a visiting researcher to the renowned California Institute of Technology. In order to balance his work life, he enjoys rock climbing, skiing, playing football, traveling, cooking, eating, painting, flying, going out, driving, trying anything once (maybe twice), and getting into as many ridiculously ironic self-defeating situations where he only has himself to blame. He aspires to live life without regrets, find all the bests in the world, and prefers to teach by example — too often as an example of what NOT to do. Find him and say hello, he is definitely worth getting to know.
