KACF will hold its second-annual benefit gala dinner at the beautiful Grand Hyatt hotel in midtown Manhattan on October 17.  KACF is delighted to announce that Jeannie Park, executive editor of People magazine, will be the keynote speaker at the dinner.

Park is one of the highest-ranking Asian Americans in the magazine industry and a recognized leader in the field of journalism. She is the founding president of the Asian American Journalists Association’s New York chapter, an organization dedicated to supporting and increasing the number of Asian Americans working in journalism, as well as ensuring the fair and accurate coverage of Asian Americans. For her work in journalism and in promoting diversity, she has been honored by numerous organizations including the National Association of Minority Media Executives, Korean American Alliance, Asian Professional Extension, the Asian American Federation of New York, the U.S. Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce and Asian Women in Business. She is also a founding member of A3, Time Inc.’s Asian American employee affinity group.

Park has been a dedicated supporter of KACF from its earliest days, as a patron and advisory board member. “I am delighted to be a part of an organization that is strengthening the Korean American community through philanthropy and making a difference in the lives of not only Korean Americans but in many other communities,” Park says. “I look forward to contributing to KACF’s second annual gala as the keynote speaker.”

Korean Consulate

Opens His Residence To Gala Sponsors

On June 21, Korean Consul General Bong-Joo Moon and his wife hosted a dinner at their residence in New York City for gala sponsors and friends.  About 35 people attended the dinner, which provided an opportunity for KACF to thank its past and current sponsors, and enlist their continued support for the upcoming gala dinner on October 17.

The evening’s guests were treated to a wonderful dinner and a tour of the residence, which featured many intriguing works of art. Consul General Bong-Joo Moon addressed the crowd and gala co-chair Kyung Yoon thanked the consul general and his wife for their gracious hospitality.

Moon Bong Joo, wife of the consulate general, will serve as the honorary benefit committee chair for the gala.
