Tax Service For Those In Need
For two weekends in March, KYCC’s Economic Development Unit partnered with Hanmi Bank to provide free tax preparation to families in need. The service, offered in English, Korean and Spanish helped families file their income taxes online and determine eligibility for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Employees of Hanmi Bank and KYCC took a series of classes to become proficient in online tax preparation and then volunteered their services in Koreatown. The turnout for this service was above what was expected, prompting coordinator Audrey Casillas to think even bigger for next year.

Annual Benefit Concert: “Believe in the Power of Music”
KYCC is gearing up for our 2007 annual benefit concert to be held at Walt Disney Concert Hall on June 14 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. This exciting event brings KYCC’s staff, clients and supporters together for a memorable night of beautiful classical music.
This year’s event is titled “Believe in the Power of Music” to reflect KYCC’s belief in music as a powerful tool that can inspire and move, as well as our belief in the strength of our programs and those who support our work. As in years past, the concert event will by lead by world-renowned conductor Jong Hoon Bae. Bae will bring together bright young stars from across the globe to perform with the Korean American Symphony and the Korean American Youth Symphony.
This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to join together to support KYCC’s programs and services for the economically disadvantaged youth and families of Koreatown. Tickets will range from $20 to $100. Many sponsorship opportunities are available. Please contact Special Events & Community Relations Coordinator Arianna Parsons at (213) 365-7400, ext. 239 or via e-mail at aparsons@kyccla.org for more information.
