Letter

From The President

Although many of us in the U.S. did not enjoy any vacation time for the Lunar New Year, I hope you enjoyed some of the festivities whether it was at home with your families or out in the community.

It’s also around this time that we start ramping up for the year’s events. Last month, we began serious planning for the 7th Annual KCCC Golf Tournament. It’s exciting to see so many new volunteers, which will ensure greater success for the tournament and future events.

Furthermore, we are reaching our goals with our website development, which is steadily gaining attention from the community. The number of e-mails we are receiving pertaining to job listings, cultural questions and business inquiries are daily reminders that a bilingual online portal to the KA community is past due. Until we have the entire site finished, it will take some time to respond to all your requests. In the meantime, please be patient and keep them coming. I will keep you posted with each new development.

We have a strong team this year and we will continue to offer many valuable opportunities for you to join in. Please take some time to learn about the events coming up and the job offers to KAPS members through our website at www.seattlekaps.org. Maybe you or someone you know is a perfect match.

Making connections and having fun while you’re at it.  (Left to right) Hae Jin Sul, Joyce S. and Eunji Lee at the March social.

Best Regards,

Jesse Adams

Events Recap

> By KAPS Secretary Hae Jin Sul

February’s social events included a speed dating event in celebration of Valentine’s Day at Venom Night Club and our monthly social on Feb. 16 at Jillian’s in Seattle. For the month of March, KAPS mixed and mingled at the hip and inviting Joey’s Restaurant in Bellevue Place. Thank you to those who have participated and contributed to the monthly activities. KAPS socials occur every second Friday of the month and you can always check out www.seattlekaps.org for the latest event announcements.

As part of KAPS, serving the community and supporting our fellow brothers and sisters is very important to us. KAPS, KABA (Korean American Bar Association) and KAHBA (Korean American Health Professionals Association) will be teeing up at the Trilogy Golf Course in Redmond, Wash., to support the Korean Community Counseling Center on June 2. KCCC is a nonprofit organization providing a variety of support to low-income Korean families in the area. Last year, we raised almost $15,000 for KCCC, so join us again to make this year even more successful. For more info on playing in the tournament, sponsorship opportunities or schedule details, e-mail us at golf@seattlekaps.orgs.

KAPS also holds monthly board meetings every second Wednesday of the month in Bellevue. New members are always welcome, and we encourage you to share your ideas and get involved.
