Annual Fundraising Dinner.

Our 22nd annual fundraising dinner will be held on Sept. 29 at the residence of Byung Chul Park, a member of the board of directors. This year’s theme, “Tradition, Changes and Family Values,” represents the evolving nature of the Korean community that is attempting to keep tradition and uphold family values while trying to acculturate to the changes of American society. The highlight of this year’s fundraiser is the building of our very own shelter that would accommodate the needs of women and their children, especially those of the Korean population who are in need of refuge when in a domestic violence situation. If you would like to attend this dinner, please contact Angie O at (213) 389-6755, ext. 109, or send an e-mail to admin@kafscla.org.

Preparing For The Real World

KAFSC Internship Program kicks off

KAFSC held its first internship meeting on July 8. The internship program is designed to give students a glance into the working world. This year our program consists of six companies and 12 students. In the future we hope to expand our program to encompass a wider range of occupations in different fields to provide more opportunities for students with varied interests. Interns will acquire skills in communication, information management, multitasking, writing, computers and the medical field.
