KAFSC interns spent almost two months learning about the working world before returning to school.

October Is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Domestic violence: break the silence, make it STOP!

The purple ribbon is worn to recognize the bruises women have sustained at the hands of abusers. It also acknowledges all forms of violence, especially those against women and children, such as domestic violence, rape, child abuse and neglect. Three million people are affected by domestic violence every year. By raising awareness about domestic violence, we can increase people’s understanding about this alarmingly growing crime against humanity.

For 22 years, KAFSC has served the needs of those in domestic violence situations and strives to eradicate domestic violence. If you or someone you love is being battered or verbally abused, please call KAFSC at (213) 389-6755. We are here to help you!

Life In The Real World

Students finish the KAFSC internship program

KAFSC recently celebrated the successful end of its internship program. Students who participated in the program gained insight into the working world and said it was a tremendous learning experience. All participants were awarded a certificate of completion for their effort and dedication. The internship program not only provides an opportunity for students to gain work experience but also helps build students’ resumes for college applications and future jobs. KAFSC will host the internship program on a yearly basis.
