KABA covers the bases in a three-peat softball win
On August 23, KABA successfully defended its title at the seventh annual softball tournament sponsored by the American Pacific American Bar Association (APABA) at the Cheviot Hills Recreation Center in West Los Angeles. Participating teams included KABA, APABA, Japanese American Bar Association, Asian Pacific American Public Defenders, Latino Prosecutors Association, Mexican American Bar Association, Philippine American Bar Association, South Asian Bar Association of Southern California, and Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association.
KABA entered this year’s tournament as two-time defending champs. They were determined to score a three-peat. They encountered stiff competition during the initial round games from teams that were anxious to knock off the defending champs. KABA, however, was up to the challenge and went unbeaten in the initial round games to face a tough SCCLA team in the championship match. Both teams battled for seven grueling innings, but KABA came out victorious by beating SCCLA in a very competitive game that ended with a final score of 5-4.
Congratulations to KABA and its team members: Richard Park, Dan Lee, Rex Hwang, Jim Chong, Max Jo, David Lee, Diane Bang, Wonkoo Chang, Jane Oak, John Kim, and team captain Steve Hwang.
