Workshop For Family Day Care Home Providers

Family day care home providers play vital roles in improving the quality of day care as well as serving healthy and nutritious meals to children who are enrolled in the Child Care Food Program. On Jan. 12, KAFSC administered a mandatory workshop/training session to all family day care home providers who are currently under our sponsorship of the Child Care Food Program. This year's topics of discussion included: general and updated policies and procedures, daily record keeping, various program forms, family-style service, and credible and non-credible food items for meal reimbursement costs. An updated provider's manual and a certificate of completion were issued to our providers. There was a great turnout this year. More than 65 day care home providers and key provider assistants were in attendance.  
KAFSC provides ongoing technical assistance and training as necessary under our Child Care Food Program sponsorship throughout the year.
