Greetings!

Our 12th annual KAPS gala is building momentum. The date is set for Nov. 1 at the Westin Bellevue. You can download our gala marketing packet and save the date postcard at www.seattlekaps.org. The theme for our 2007 gala is “KA 2.0 – Changing the Landscape.” The gala will not only recognize outstanding leaders and students in our community, but also showcase the unique and non-traditional contributions Korean Americans are making to the community at large.

We will also highlight some of the next stages of our KA online portal service. As always, we hope to become a welcoming guide to anyone interested in Korean business, culture and people. You can also help us build this bridge by simply taking advantage of the portal. To learn more, stop by our next KAPS board meeting.

Best regards,

Jim Song

Networking Bingo Recap

Summer days seem longer than any other days of the year. Sitting in our offices and watching the sun pour in doesn’t make time go faster. But the one thing we can all look forward to is meeting up with friends after work and finding a place where we can comfortably wind down.

Last month, KAPS and NAAAP (National Asian American Association of Professionals) members held a joint mixer and a night of networking bingo. Those who joined us had the opportunity to chat as well as share business information by exchanging business cards.

We hope you’ll join our next event.

The Korean American Professionals Society (KAPS) was founded in 1993 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting friendship and understanding among Korean Americans, and to improving the social and professional well-being of Korean Americans in the greater Seattle area.

KAPS sponsors community and educational programs and organizes special events to help its members develop leadership skills and professional networks.

KAPS is an affiliate of the Korean American Coalition.

KAPS is open to those interested in the Korean American community, regardless of ethnicity, socioeconomic status or creed. Active members include professionals in various fields. Graduate and undergraduate students over the age of 18 are welcome as associate (nonvoting) members.

KAPS is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization which meets monthly.
