When: 7-9 p.m., every Tuesday. Spring session begins Oct. 16 and ends Dec. 18.

Fee: $40 for entire 10-week program

Restrictions: Students must be at least high school age

Location: Korean Culture Center, Los Angeles

October Scarefest

Four of Korea’s most shocking horror films

 

Seoul Search

 

KCCLA, KYCC and Kollaboration will be presenting Seoul Search, a contest for talented Korean singers and dancers. Auditions were held in September and the performances will take place at 7 p.m. on Oct. 20. at KCCLA’s Ari Hall, 5505 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles.

There will be cash prizes awarded for the top three talents. Winners will get a chance to work with CJ Entertainment in Korea. Admission for the event will be $5. For information, please contact Jin Sung, performing arts manager at ext. 123 or jin@kccla.org.

 

 

Tarfest 2007

A festival of film, music and art on Los Angeles’ Miracle Mile

 

KCCLA is hosting the Tarfest art program, featuring 41 contemporary works selected from an open call for submissions by Michele Urton, curatorial assistant of contemporary art at LACMA. It will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Oct. 5 at the Korean Cultural Center Art Gallery.

The following day on Oct. 5, we will host the Tarfest short film program, featuring programs by Dublab, Echo Park Film Center and Very Short Movies. It will be held from 1 to 5:30 p.m. at the Korean Cultural Center Auditorium.

 

Short film program schedule:

 

1 - 2:30 p.m.: Very Short Movies

2:30 – 4 p.m.: Echo Park Film Center

4 - 5:30 p.m.: Dublab
