On Sept. 20, in anticipation of its second annual gala dinner in October, KACF held a pre-gala event at the luxurious Shoreham Hotel in midtown Manhattan. Jeannie Park, executive editor of People magazine and gala keynote speaker, along with Yul Kwon, winner of “Survivor: Cook Islands,” attended the reception and encouraged guests to attend the gala dinner.
On Sept. 27, KACF held another pre-gala event for its sponsors and donors at the Queens Museum of Art. In attendance was Korean American artist Il Lee who had his works on display. The evening also featured the performance of an original piano piece composed and performed by Haewon Min.
KACF, a not-for-profit group based in New York, raises funds to support local social service organizations, including those that serve the needs of disadvantaged Korean and Asian Americans. The gala dinner is KACF’s main fundraising event of the year.
