Amy Ahn will serve as KACF’s new director of program development.

In April, KACF announced the selection of Amy Ahn as the new director of program development. Ahn will be replacing the outgoing program director, J. Robin Moon.

Ahn is a graduate of Columbia University’s School of International & Public Affairs and is a recipient of the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship in Public Policy and International Affairs. She holds significant work experience in both the public and private sector including positions with Johnson & Johnson, J. Walter Thompson Korea, UNICEF and the Korean Ministry of Finance and Economy. In addition, Ahn brings with her practical and active experiences in both interethnic collaborations and program development.   In announcing the selection of Ahn, KACF Board President Suok Noh said the decision to select her for the position was unanimous. Ahn will work closely with Sonny Whang, chair of KACF’s program development committee, and KACF Executive Director Bomsinae Kim. She will oversee KACF’s existing programs funded from a $200,000 grant from the Ford Foundation as well as further advance KACF’s commitment in serving the local community through other programs. One such project is a community forum, which will take place later this year, designed to engage participants in an ongoing dialogue about race relations with other non-Korean ethnic and minority communities. Furthermore, she will continue developing the CLIP program, a computer literacy program for senior citizens currently based at a YMCA in Queens. Ahn said she was particularly drawn to KACF because of the talented and committed young professionals involved in making a difference, and sees great potential for the organization, including the opportunity to take on bold and creative programming efforts in the future. “It is quite exciting to be joining KACF at this important juncture and I am particularly excited to be a part of an organization that has so much potential for growth,” Ahn said. Raised in New Jersey, Ahn currently resides in Manhattan with her husband and two young daughters. President Noh also thanked the outgoing program director J. Robin Moon for her enthusiasm, commitment and drive in serving the local community. Moon served as KACF’s first executive director and Noh credited Moon for developing KACF’s ongoing relationship with the Ford Foundation and expressed gratitude for her years of service to KACF.
