How depressing. So, his hygiene practices might’ve been a little questionable, but we were really rooting for “American Idol” hopeful Paul Kim.

The 25-year-old from Saratoga, Calif., was one of 24 semifinalists on Fox’s celebrity-manufacturing reality show. After hearing his rendition of “If I Ever Fall in Love” by Shai, judge Paula Abdul pronounced him “wonderful” and “fantastic.”

But alas, his “Idol” dreams were short-lived. He was sent packing on the first elimination show.

During earlier rounds, the self-proclaimed “pool boy” said that for each performance, he would sing barefooted. And for each elimination show, he would wear the same pair of underpants.

Hopefully, Paul will emerge in the spotlight once again – this time wearing brand new pairs of shoes and drawers.
