KAM’s exhibit, “L.A. Koreatown: Celebration of Continuity and Change,” continues to bring in the crowds. On Nov. 18, visitors came from as far as Montebello. The Montebello High School Asian Pacific Student Alliance Club members spent a good part of the day at the museum touring the exhibit and asking questions. The nature and extent of their questions indicated a strong interest in their Asian heritage. The exhibition seemed to greatly interest them, even though many of the students were not of Korean descent.
KAM strongly believes that preserving one’s history and culture through sharing is essential, especially to the younger generation, and hopes that this exhibit has kindled an interest in their young visitors to find out more about their own heritage.
KAM is located at 3727 W. Sixth Street, Suite 400, Los Angeles. Gallery hours are Wednesdays to Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
