For two months, Seung Jin Ha floated in obscurity after being pink-slipped by the Milwaukee Bucks last October.
But on Dec. 31, 2006, his career was revived after he was acquired by the Anaheim Arsenal of the National Basketball Development League.
In his first four games with his new club, Ha logged just 26 minutes of playing time with his best outing being an 8-point, 6-rebound effort against the Austin Toros on Jan. 11. In order to garner interest from any NBA squad, he’ll need a big-time increase in his production. With Arsenal coach Larry Smith it may be possible. During his playing days, Smith made his living as a ferocious rebounder. As a coach, he has developed a knack for working well with young hoopsters. So perhaps “Mr. Mean,” as he was known during his 13-year NBA career, can help further cultivate the skills of his 7-foot-3 protégé and make Ha’s hoop dream a reality once again.
