The Korean American Family Service Center (KAFSC) was founded in 1983 with the name Korean Family Counseling and Legal Advice Clinic by a group of Korean American women influenced by Dr. Tai Young Lee, Korea’s first female lawyer and an activist for women’s and children’s rights. KAFSC is a nonprofit,

community-based organization whose programs and services are geared to the needs of the immigrant Korean population, especially women, children and low-income families, who are struggling emotionally, psychologically and socially in their adopted environment.

KAFSC will be holding its 24th Annual Fundraising Dinner on September 27 at the Wilshire Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. For 24 years, KAFSC has been providing services to support and strengthen Korean American families. This event will give us an opportunity to look back into our Korean American history and express our heartfelt appreciation to the pioneers of the Korean American community. KAFSC is privileged to have Dr. No-Hee Park as our keynote speaker. Park presently holds the titles of dean and distinguished professor at the UCLA School of Dentistry and distinguished professor at the UCLA School of Medicine.

KAFSC is excited to celebrate this event with the Korean American community and we invite everyone to partner with us in our endeavor to strengthen the community by participating as a sponsor for our fundraising event. As a sponsor, your generosity will help us realize our vision of expanding and developing new and innovative community assistance programs.

For more information about sponsorship, individual tickets or volunteer opportunities, please contact resource development coordinator Jennifer Lee at (213) 389-6755, ext. 110 or e-mail her at jlee@kafscla.org.
