The reunion of Olympic bronze medalist Toby Dawson and his biological father, Kim Jae-soo, included tears, laughter and a plethora of reporters eager to capture it all.

Dawson, a freestyle skier who is adopted and grew up in Vail, Colo., met Kim for the first time on Feb. 28 during a press conference at the Lotte Hotel in Seoul. It had been 26 years since the two were last together. Kim says he lost Dawson at a market in Pusan and recognized his long lost son after the athlete gained media attention for his bronze medal in the 2006 winter Olympics. A DNA test confirmed the two are related.

“It brings up a lot of emotions to meet my biological father,” said Dawson. “I am still uncertain of exactly how I feel about it.”
