A Respectable Finish
KABA earns second place at APABA softball tournament
On Aug. 27, KABA sought to defend its title at the third annual Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA) softball tournament at Whittier Narrows Park in El Monte, Calif. The participating teams were APABA, Japanese American Bar Association (JABA), South Asian Bar Association (SABA), and Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association (SCCLA).
Under the leadership of KABA’s team captain and board member Steve Hwang, KABA spent Saturday mornings in August practicing to defend its two-year reign as champions. KABA cruised through its first two rounds, beating JABA and SCCLA handily. Making it to the championship round, KABA then faced its annual nemesis SABA. SABA played a strong game, and ended up taking the crown.
KABA congratulates SABA and looks forward to playing again next year. KABA thanks Steve and team members Max Jo, Michael Kang, David Y. Kim, John Kim, Keith Kim, Dan Lee, David Lee, Jay Lee, Joann Lee, Jane Oak, Richard Park and Lisa Yang.
