KABA members enjoy themselves at all the exciting events.
On The Move
Looking forward to the year’s events
As KABA kicks off its 2005 year, the organization continues its evolution from a fledgling group of primarily Koreatown lawyers to a Los Angeles-wide association of lawyers from the public, private and government sectors who advocate on issues affecting lawyers and, of course, the community at large. With the growing number of law students at Los Angeles-area law schools, KABA is committed this year to increasing participation and mentorship of soon-to-be lawyers while increasing the scope of its existing programs.
KABA will be continuing its monthly community law clinic held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Koreatown Youth and Community Center, located at 680 Wilton Place, Los Angeles, California. For more information, contact Joann Lee at (323) 801-7976.
Our annual Law Day will be held on the first Saturday of May. To attend, call Wonkoo Chang at (213) 978-7840.
In July, KABA and the Korean American Lawyers of Northern California will sponsor an event at the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s California regional conference. Please contact Ekwan Rhow at (310) 201-2100 if you have questions about the event.
In addition, KABA will continue its tradition of sponsoring monthly mixers. We have already sponsored the new admittee reception, which was held on Feb. 10 at Oiwake and the first membership mixer of the year, on Feb. 24 at Buddha’s Belly.
Save The Date: This year marks the 25th anniversary of KABA and you’re invited to participate in its celebration! Taking a strict departure from the past years, this installation dinner will take place at Union Station, located at 800 N. Alameda, Los Angeles. It will feature California Supreme Court Justice Joyce Kennard, and an unbelievable spread of Korean cuisine from Biwon Restaurant! Cocktails start at 6:00 p.m., and a dinner reception will follow at 7:00 p.m. Individual tickets are $85. Corporate table sponsorship and advertisement opportunities are available. Please contact Ellen J. Shin at (310) 277-7200 for more information.
We strongly encourage you to check out our events. Start at a mixer and see what happens from there!
